As a mosaic is made up of many tiles which, put together, make a greater picture, this dance performance is assembled from many different choreographies that together make for an unforgettable evening of dance.
Parts of the program are, among others, the choreographies LA MORT DU CYGNE (2022) and BOLÉRO (2001) as well as excerpts from MOZART À 2, LE CID, UNE DERNIÈRE CHANSON, NOCTURNES and MAGNIFIQUE. The single dances culminate in the apotheosis of a human mosaic to the intense strains of Ravel’s BOLÉRO.
The evening is a cross section of Thierry Malandains’s choreographies which go back over a quarter of a century. Malandain has been since 1997 in charge of the National Center for Contemporary Choreography in Biarritz.
In the 2023/2024 season, the Malandain Ballet performed in Bonn LES SAISONS / THE SEASONS.
