Monica Conesa
Monica Conesa is a highly talented Cuban-American soprano.
At 26, she made her debut in the 2022 season at the Arena di Verona in the role of AIDA under the direction of Maestro Marco Armiliato.
Winner of the "Premio Fausto Ricci 2021" competition, she also won the "Maria Caniglia" International Competition in Sulmona the same year.
In 2022, she debuted at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona in the lead roles of La Gioconda and Aida.
In 2023, she returned to sing during the 100th Arena Festival in the role of Aida.
She made her debut in Spain in La Dolores by Tomàs Bretón at the Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo.
Under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti, she participated in the "Le vie dell’amicizia" concerts.
In December 2023, she debuted at the Ravenna Festival in the role of Norma under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti.
In January 2024, she made her debut at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid with a recital of Spanish and Cuban Zarzuela alongside tenor Jorge de Leon.
Upcoming engagements:
She will debut as Nedda in Pagliacci at the Seattle Opera, USA, and as TOSCA at the Teatro di Bonn.
In May 2024, she will be in Japan for four concerts alongside Placido Domingo.
In September 2024, she will debut in China at the Grand Theatre of Shanghai as Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro, and will perform the same role at the Teatro Regio di Torino and the NCPA in Beijing in 2025.
She will return to Madrid in Goyescas in 2026.
